March Macaron and Other Madness

March is a month for learning new things . . . or in our case just making a little adjustment in our perspective.  What, you might ask?  Well, our stamping discoveries took us to a video where we learned that we were describing our very beautiful Minty SU! In-Color Ink™ all wrong.  It is not Mint Macaroon but rather Mint Macaron--and there is a difference greater than just the spelling!  (My bad as the youngsters say.)

Whew!  Now that we have that off our minds we can turn to a preview of our beautiful Second Thursday Stamp Club creations for March!

This month our stampers tackle an easier than it looks birthday card using the Party Pop-Up Thinlits, create an earthy collage with the Timeless Textures Stamp Set, and color an Easter egg that is a Work of Art.  We relied heavily on some help from our ©Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog, and took advantage of a Sale-a-Brations ™ set for good measure.  And yes . . . we did use Mint Macaron as one of our inks this month, but not until after we learned the History of the Macaron.  We are sorry to note that we have missed the deadline to sign up to participate in the March 20, 2016 Macaron Day NYC, but maybe next year now that we are so much smarter.

Artistic Easter Egg Design

Not exactly Ukranian Pysanka or a crafty Martha Stewart, but our nice little Happy Easter Egg Card surprise is surely a keeper!

 Happy Easter Egg Card

Our sweet Easter greeting was fashioned with our Work of Art stamp.  The waves of color feature Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, and Blushing Bride Inks, and our Decorative Dots Embossing Folder provides the basket that holds our egg. It is simply a large oval cutout from the Ovals Collection Framelits.  How cute is that?  Our little Bird Builder Punch friend with a Tiny Pearl eye keeps watch over our lovely egg.  To complete this treasure, A Teeny Tiny Wishes wish for a Happy Easter, framed with a modified Washi Label Punch label tops things off.  It's as easy as all that and we love it.

A Timeless Textured Treat

There is nothing more impressive, or more fun to create than a collage card.  There was something about the Timeless Textures stamp set in our Occasions Catalog that reached out and touched us, and our beautiful card in Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, and Island Indigo shows exactly why!

 Timeless Textures Collage Card

Our Second Thursday Stampers will get a chance to play with all of what this set has to offer, creating an interesting background framed with Early Espresso, and Island Indigo Card Stock.  The showpiece of our card front is a bold Chocolate Chip flower from Crazy About You, punched with the Flower Medallion Punch and accented with an Enamel Dot.  Because we really like punches and coordinating sets, we thought a little Petite Petals action was appropriate in Chocolate Chip and Island Indigo.  What a great color combination.  Who would have thought?  This is a very nice way to say "Thank You" and we say it with our sweet Sale-a-Bration™ What I Love free stamp set--which is indeed something to love!  A truly timeless treat.

Impressive Party Sprinkles--Hooray!

OK.  We admit it.  We cased this card right from the catalog (Spring Occasions that is.)  How could we resist?  The colors please the senses, and the easy to use Party Pop-Up Thinlits make us grin from ear to ear.  This card has to be one of our happiest creations, so a Happy Birthday Wish is a great sentiment to show how we feel!

 Party with Sprinkles Card

Our base is Melon Mambo and our cake cutout is sponged with Mint Macaron, Crushed Curry, and Melon Mambo.  The sprinkly background puts everyone in a party mood, and why not?  We created it from It's My Party Designer Stack Designer Series Paper with a bunch of pizzazz from Sprinkles of Life and a little help from Party with Cake.

Open it up and . . .

It's just that simple!  That's all we can say!
