January: Valentines and Snow Flurries

The Happy New Year brings our stampers some seasonal fun.  The holidays aren't over--2013 is just beginning!  We are excited about the new Stampin' Up© Spring Catalog and will be sharing new products sure to please.  We can't wait until Sale-a-bration which starts at the end of this month.  There's a whole new world out there for 2013!  Second Tuesday Stampers use Stampin' Up.© papers, inks, and accessories in our card creations.

A Tip for Retired Sets

This month we couldn't resist using an old favorite stamp set, Wonderful Words (Stampin' Up© 2004).  It just worked so well for our "Kiss" card.  For clubbers that grow to love some of these old standbys, an easy internet search will yield excellent results.  We found this one on Ebay for $17.50.  Here's the link:

A Whole Lotta Hearts

Who will be the lucky valentine receiving this old fashioned cut-out card?

Hearts a Flutter Card

This impressive card capitalizes on any heart we could find.  We especially love the new Hearts a Flutter stamp set teamed up with the matching framelits and the beautiful new "More Amore Specialty Designer Paper."  The set is available individually or as a bundle in the new Stampin' Up Spring Catalog©.  Very Vanilla Card Stock sets the background for the hearts of all kinds on this card.  We cut out a Primrose Petals Heart from the laser cut sheet in the More Amore Specialty Designer Paper and layered on two hearts created with the Hearts a Flutter Stamp Set and Framelits.  The "bite" out of the card front comes from a strategically placed framelit cutout.  Side accents with more hearts include a scalloped edge cut from Primrose Petals Card Stock using the Adorning Accents Embossing Folder and Edgelit topped off with a strip of More Amore Designer Paper.  Accent hearts in Real Red and Primrose Petals punched with the  Small Heart Punch are strewn down the card front for a pretty finish.  The message is stamped from the Tiny Tags Stamp Set.  All papers, inks, and accessories used in this card are from Stampin' Up©.

A Frosty January Treat

Simply beautiful is what we think of this card!  We teamed up a little household bleach with some Brushed Silver Card Stock to create a stunning effect for Frosty.  The heat embossed Snow Much Fun Stamp Set image from Stampin' Up©  is helping us warm up the winter!

Bleached Out Frosty Card

We stamped our friend Frosty from Snow Much Fun on some Brushed Silver Card Stock using Versa Mark Ink then sprinkled on some Black Embossing Powder and finished with a quick shot of heat from our embossing tool.  (Not too hot . . . we don't want to melt our snow buddy!)  Next we used household bleach and a watercolor brush to "paint" the snowman.  As the bleach dries the snowman gets his winter white look.  Next we accented good old Frosty with some water color markers and cut him out with an Oval Framelit.  Another larger Oval Framelit is cut from Marina Mist Card Stock and pierced to provide a nice affect when the ovals are layered.  The Northern Flurries Embossing Folder teamed up with some Whisper White Card Stock and layered over a Marina Mist Card Stock card front give this card a dramatic finish.  All papers, inks, and accessories used in this card are from Stampin' Up©.

Love and Some Kisses

Kisses from blossoms, an old favorite message stamp, and the computer helped us create this fun and easy to make card. Wonderful is what we call it!

Sweet Kisses Card

This simple card uses the Blossom Petals Builder Punch to create the three sweet kisses punched from Silver Glitter Cardstock.  (Red Glitter looks great as well.)  The pretty emboss at the bottom of the card is made with the Delicate Designs Embossing Folder and the top red edge gets some detail with the Scallop Edge Punch on Basic Black.  We set up a sheet of tag messages on an Excel spreadsheet in columns to be cut out, and sent a sheet of Vellum Paper through the printer taking care not to touch or snip until every word was dry.  The pretty Real Red Card Stock is accented with a little bit of Whisper White Card Stock over Basic Black.  Stunning!  Cherry Cobbler "Love" is all you need to complete the sensation.  We got ours from retired stamp set Wonderful Words.  (See tips in our previous post for locating retired sets.)  All papers, inks, and accessories used in this card are from Stampin' Up.©
