Ringing In a New Year!

         Our Second Tuesday Stampers made their way through 2014 with hopefulness, happiness, some sorrow, and some tears . . . and we continued to come together the second Tuesday of every month. We laughed and hugged, created some beautiful things, and shared some wonderful times!  So on we go . . .

Now we are poised to start another year together, making artful creations and some lasting friendships along the way.

Blooms and Butterflies

A new year brings a new ©Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog and with it all kinds of new things we just can't live without.  The Butterflies Thinlits Dies set reached out and grabbed us.  Now we just wish we had taken the plunge and bundled it!  (We're sure there's more to come with these winged lovelies!)  Here's a really good start. 

Pacific Point Butterfly Card

Pacific Point might just be the best blue ever.  It plays quite nicely with the new Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper and adding the middle-size butterfly from the Butterflies Thinlits Dies to the combination makes for an eye-popping card!  Our lovely greeting comes from the Sale.a.Bration Lotus Blossom stamp set.  To make the task of preparing such a lacy embellishment as the thinlit butterflies a piece of cake, we called on our friend Patty Bennett at Patty's Stamping Spot for a Dryer Sheet and Waxed Paper Method for Big Shot thinlit cutouts.  Lots of "schnibbles" but well worth the confetti!

A Tree with a Heart

There's something comforting about a tree, and the Sheltering Tree stamp set from the new Occasions Catalog is very very comfortable to have in any collection. This set has endless possibilities.  Our simple start to what is sure to be a season of beautiful cards with this set begins right here.

Sheltering Tree Valentine Card

A red heart cut from the same Stacked With Love DSP Paper Stack page as the trim accents the Sheltering Tree stamped in Basic Grey. We put a little swing on the tree swaying in the winter breeze, just because we could!  Our little Soft Sky snow drift could easily turn into a grassy green hill for spring! Put it all together and, as the greeting says "it warms our heart!"  This card would make a simply beautiful Valentine for anyone!

Lotus Blossom Beginnings

The  2015 Sale-a-Bration has us swooning!  What an incredible choice of stamps, papers, and accessories.  It's only here for three months and we plan to make the best of it!  The big winner in our book is the Lotus Blossom Stamp Set.  The possibilities are endless. Check it out!  Here is a good start!

 

Irresistible Lotus Blossom Card

We started with our free from Sale.a.Bration Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper, a Sponge Dauber, and some Pear Pizzazz Ink.  Then we created our three layer Lotus Blossom with Calypso Coral and Crisp Canteloupe Inks.  A little Whisper White Organza Ribbon tied up with some Crisp Canteloupe Thick Baker's Twine and we have a masterpiece!  Thanks to Sara Levin, at The Artful Inker for her helpful Lotus Blossom Color Combination Chart.
