Fond Farewell to Summer!

What better way to bid our sweet Wisconsin summer goodbye than with a look at seasons to come!

This month we are wowing our stampers with a little Sunflower Gift card--a kind of Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall card.

If September goes by anywhere near as fast as our summer flitted away, then it is a sure thing that October is just around the corner!  So, we thought why not try a cool technique for a spooky looking sky on a nice Halloween greeting using a new and versatile stamp set from the 2014-15 Holiday Catalog!

Now, who can't get excited about Christmas. Never too early from our perspective!  Trees, trees, and more trees with Stamper Smiles all around on the Second Tuesday in September!  Another new set with a punch to match!  Can't help but love it.

Sunny Daydreams

The sunshine of Summer fleeting into Fall is reflected in the sun flower's pretty face. Thank you Vincent Van Gogh for this perfect reminder.  We put that warm feeling into our Daffodil Delight colored gift card and we did a pretty good job of capturing the magic if we do say so ourselves!  There's a chill in the air in our town but we are warming up our Second Tuesday September night with this stamper's delight. We went back to some old friends from the Stampin' Up™ 2014-2015 Idea Book, teaming up the Daydream Medallions Stamp Set and Floral Frames Collection Framelits making easy work to create this interesting project.

Sunflowery Gift Card

Our stampers started this sunflower card by stamping a small medallion with Crushed Curry Ink and cutting it out with a Floral Frames Collection Framelit.  Two more large cut out florals and a little trick with the tiny Daydream Medallion on each petal got our project looking good.  A score at the top inside piece, and a little glue got the whole thing really going.  We embossed a piece of Chocolate Chip Card Stock and punched it out with our trusty 2 1/2" Circle Punch for layering, decorated it up with a message, kissed it with a pearl adorned Beautiful Wings Embosslit butterfly, and tacked a couple of Garden Green Autumn Accents Framelits leaves behind. It stands on its own in more ways than one!!!  What a nice way to decorate a package or just to give as a unique note for someone you love.  All papers, inks, and accessories used in this card are from Stampin’ Up! ©

A Fall Sky and Some Halloween Magic

Every once in awhile you need to get a little adventurous (and sometimes a little inky in the process.) It was a challenge and a whole lot of fun to ink our way to an eerie night sky, setting the tone for our delightful Holiday Home creation.  We can't take credit for this one though because we didn't see many ways to improve on the card posted by our Pinterest friend Melissa at RubberFUNatics! Check out more great ideas at her blog.

Inky Happy Halloween Home Card

As soon as we opened the new Stampin' Up Holiday Catalog™ we couldn't wait to try out the Holiday Home Stamp Set with the coordinating Homemade Holiday Framelits.  You can decorate for any occasion with this great polymer collection.  For the background on our Halloween version we used Pumpkin Pie, Hello Honey, Old Olive, and Rich Razzleberry re-inkers dripped sparingly on a basket style water spritzed coffee filter.  (You can be pretty generous with the water, but be sure to get it really dry before attaching it to the card.) Anyone can see that the result is more than pleasing to the eye.  With a little help from the On Film Framelits the background was showcased beautifully in Basic Black over an embossed Pumpkin Pie card stock card front set off with another layer of Basic Black pulling everything together.  We stamped our trees, stars, and bats in Jet Black Stazon Ink.  The message on Whisper White was cut out with Bitty Banners and tied up with some black hemp twine.  The little spider and his web and a Pumpkin Pie pumpkin are guarding the door of our comfy little Old Olive Card Stock house.  You can tell someone is home because the lights are on . . . compliments a little household bleach painted on the windows to make them glow.  Don't forget to get out the Dimensionals to show off the house and message.  They add that little extra pop!  All papers, inks, and accessories used in this card are from Stampin’ Up! ©

O Taunnenbaum O Tannenbaum

We are ready to spread some Christmas joy, and the tradition of the tree is one that makes us feel the wonder.  Stampers can never rush the season so here's an elegant yet simple card and some Irish Tenors to get you in the mood!

A Festival of Trees Card

Our new SU™ Holiday Catalog has us so excited we hardly know where to start . . . and what to add to our collection!!!  The Festival of Trees stamp set caught our eye right up front.  We couldn't have been more excited to see it bundled with the punch called Tree!  A perfect little forest is now within reach!  This card started with a base of Crumb Cake Card Stock layered with some Garden Green (a perfect Christmas green), and Chocolate Chip to set off the focal point--THE TREES!  We stamped two different tree images on Garden Green Card Stock with Garden Green Ink, colored the tree trunks with Chocolate Chip Marker, nested them in a snowy hill cut from a rectangle of Whisper White Card Stock, and lit up one with Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details!  The subtle charm of some Under the Tree Specialty Designer Paper provides the backdrop for our lovely picture.  A Cherry Cobbler Inked Festival of Trees message compliments this simple, but elegant design. A beautifully simple and just plain beautiful preview of the season! We are giving credit for this idea to Michelle and Jeff at their Stamp Pray Love Blog. All papers, inks, and accessories used in this card are from Stampin’ Up! ©
